TARGET POPULATION
Our home base is Fresno, CA given our co-founder's realization that only 9% of adults in Southwest Fresno held a bachelors degree and the ongoing history of negligence in a California's poorest major city. After conversations with peers in college that came from various cities, our cofounders realized these educational inequities are evident nationwide not just in their hometowns.
Ultimately Mi Casa Es Tu Casa aim to uplift historically underrepresented students throughout the United States those who come from economically disadvantaged homes and students who will be first-generation college students.
Given our founders backgrounds as proud Latinas and daughters of immigrants, we aim to support the Latinx community. That being said, we are not exclusively supporting Latinx students. We welcome and encourage BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) to use our resources but recognize that our backgrounds and experiences of our team will allow us to best begin this work within our own community.
